All rooms at Slate Hall B&B include Complimentary Toiletries, hairdryer, seating area, tea & coffee making facility, and a flat screen TV for your leisure. In addition, our Deluxe Super King room has a Bath and Shower.  We also have an Iron and Alarm Clock available upon request.
Facilities include free private parking for 1 car per room, free WIFI in bedrooms and guest areas and a lovely walled shared garden to sit and relax with a glass of wine (or two!)

Our stay was perfect. Mark and Monique were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The quality of produce for breakfast was excellent. Location was just right in a quiet part of seahouses but just a lovely stroll away to the restaurants, pubs and harbour.

ATTRACTIONS

An ideal location for exploring the area, Slate Hall B&B is situated a short walk from the centre of the village, harbour and sandy beaches where you will find regular boat trips to the scenic Farne Islands.
Bamburgh Castle and Beadnell are both a very short drive  away or a lovely walk. Further afield you will find Alnwick Castle where Harry Potter was filmed (20min drive) as well as Holy Island, Craster and many other beautiful castles and places of outstanding beauty- great for Bird Watching, Photography and Cycling too!

Sight Seeing

Bamburgh Castle – 3.4 miles –Experience Northumberland at a different level with a visit to magnificent Bamburgh Castle, one of England’s finest coastal castle and the filming location of many big films such as The Transformers, The Las Knight and Macbeth.

Dunstanburgh Castle – 10 miles – Built on the most magnificent scale, Dunstanburgh Castle stands on a remote headland in Northumberland. 

Alnwick Castle – 14 miles – Filming location of the Harry Potter films and home to the Duke of Northumberland and the percy family for the over 700 years.

Lindisfarne, Holy Island – 18 miles –Lindisfarne is a tidal island reachable via a paved causeway only when the North Sea tides permit. Lindisfarne is internationally famous both for its medieval religious heritage and also its more recent picturesque 16th century castle. Please make sure to always check safe crossing times when planning your trip to Lindisfarne.

Cragside – 26 miles – Extraordinary Victorian house, gardens and woodland – the wonder of its age and home of victorian adventure Lord Armstrong

Walks & Hiking

Seahouses Heritage Trail – The fascinating history of Seahouses and North Sunderland has been brought to life with three Heritage Walks. A leaflet is available from Seahouses tourist information.

Northumbrian Coast Path– The Northumberland coast offers some of the finest coastal walking in Europe. The Northumberland Coast Path follows this stunningly beautiful coastline for 100 kilometres (62 Miles) from Cresswell in the south to Berwick-upon-Tweed in the north

Dunstanburgh Castle Coastal walk  – Dunstanburgh Castle Coastal Walk is a 8.7 kilometer out and back trail located near Alnwick, Northumberland, England that features a river and is rated as moderate.

Embleton Heritage Trails  A series of six self-guided trails around the Parish of Embleton. A guidebook is available from shops in the village or can be downloaded by following the link above. 

Thrunton Woods – Thurnton Wood and Coe Crag Circular is a 17.1 kilometer loop trail  that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and nature trips.

Simonside – A walk along the Simonside Hills must not be missed. From the top, you have a wonderful 360-degree view encompassing the Cheviot Hills and North Sea coastline. The area teems with wildlife such as the curlew, red grouse, wild goats, and even red squirrels in the forest below.
